Raynald Leclerc is a renowned Canadian artist born in 1961 in Saint-Michel de Bellechasse, near Quebec City. He discovered his natural talent for painting while studying architecture at Levis-Lauzon CEGEP and has been making a living through his art for over 35 years. Leclerc's works are inspired by the Canadian landscape, particularly the Charlevoix region of Quebec, and he has an innate ability to capture light and an acute sense of observation. His style is also influenced by the impressionists, especially Claude Monet, and is known for the architectural solidity of its composition and the textural variation of its impasto, which gives rise to the expression “sculpting light”.

Leclerc's work is sought after in the United States and Europe, and he is the only Canadian artist since Jean-Paul Riopelle in 1978 to affix his paintings to bottles of French wine. He was invited by a wine producer in Provence to illustrate the labels of his wines (Bandol) and created four oil paintings that will henceforth illustrate the wines of Domaine Souviou offered at the SAQ.
