The painting is a horizontal village landscape. A pale sky fills the upper part of the image, with broad strokes of cream, yellow, blue, and pink. A blue hill rises on the right side of the background, with a band of water or shoreline extending across the left and centre. Below the horizon, small houses and rooftops are grouped across the middle of the composition. Several bare trees stand in front of the buildings, including two tall trunks near the left side and a smaller tree near the centre. The foreground is crossed by a road or lane that begins near the lower centre and moves back toward the village. Snow remains along the road edges and on parts of the roofs and ground. The surface shows thick, raised strokes throughout, especially in the sky, road, and snow. The palette includes blue, white, cream, brown, green, yellow, and touches of pink. The artist’s signature appears in the lower right corner.
