The Early Days
A West End Gallery
In 1975 - Our first location on 156 Street & 95th Avenue was the West End of Edmonton.
A few years later, we would move our West End Gallery closer to downtown, 124th Street, a bustling community that would become the Gallery Walk Area.
We Are Dedicated to Our Artists
We are passionate about art and dedicated to promoting the careers of contemporary Canadian artists. Our artists specialize in various media, from photorealism to abstract, including figurative, landscape, and still life. We also represent talented glass artists who showcase exceptional technique and skill. Our mission is to provide our artists with a supportive and professional environment, connecting them with collectors worldwide. Many of our artists have gained international recognition and are highly sought after by collectors. We proudly represent these talented individuals and help them reach their full potential.
We Are Dedicated to Our Business
Since 1975, West End Gallery has been an essential part of the Western Canada art scene. Its founders, Dan and Lana Hudon, opened the gallery in Edmonton, AB, and quickly gained recognition for their commitment to quality and expert curation.
Today, Matthew (Son) and his wife Jennifer continue this legacy as the new owners, committed to carrying on the dream that began five decades ago.
We Are Family
West End Gallery is not just a business. It's a family. Dan and Lana's two sons were familiar visitors when they were young. In 2005, the youngest son, Matthew, joined the gallery full-time and has played a significant role in shaping its future vision. Matthew is the gallery owner today, and his two children are recognizable faces when they visit after school.
The current owners, Matthew and Jennifer Hudon, are honoured to continue the legacy started by Matthew's parents over 40 years ago.
A Second Generation Business
Matthew and Jennifer Hudon, are the proud owners of West End Gallery. Matthew is passionate about making Canadian art more accessible to a broader audience, and he is dedicated to creating an engaging online presence for the gallery, just as it is in person. The gallery showcases diverse Canadian artworks and actively supports artists' growth through constructive feedback, which helps cultivate a rich, engaging community for artists and art lovers alike. Matthew builds trust and fosters long-term relationships with artists and collectors by maintaining high standards and a clear, consistent curatorial taste.
While this taste can evolve over time, artists and customers value consistency. Matthew has a clear understanding of what he likes and dislikes, which has proven to be helpful for creative individuals.
