The painting is a horizontal townscape viewed from an elevated position. The upper background contains a deep blue sky with lighter blue and white strokes. Dark blue hills stretch across the distance, with a band of blue water visible at the left and centre. The middle of the composition is filled with a town made up of white and pale buildings, orange rooftops, church towers, and narrow streets. Two church or bell towers appear on the left side, while another tower stands closer to the centre. The rooftops form a dense pattern of orange, yellow, cream, and red shapes. The lower foreground contains dark green and black trees with twisting trunks and pale highlights. Their branches partly cover the lower buildings. The paint is thick across the surface, with raised marks defining foliage, roofs, water, hills, and sky. The artwork is presented in a black frame with a white liner. The artist’s signature appears in the lower left corner.
