Accessibility Description
The painting shows a broad expanse of ocean beneath a wide, cloud-filled sky. The horizon line sits low across the composition, dividing the canvas into a large area of sky and a narrower band of sea and shoreline. The upper section is filled with soft layers of cloud in shades of white, grey, and pale blue, blending smoothly with touches of violet near the horizon. The sea below is rendered in cool blues that deepen toward the distance, where a slim line of darker water meets the sky. Near the foreground, faint reflections of light and colour suggest wet sand or shallow water.
