Accessibility Description

The painting is square in format and shows a floral arrangement against a softly graduated grey-blue background. The background contains no distinct objects or architectural elements, allowing the bouquet to occupy the central area of the composition. Gentle variations in tone provide depth while maintaining an uncluttered setting.

At the centre sits a clear glass jar filled with water. The cylindrical jar has vertical ridges that catch reflected light and create subtle highlights across its surface. The waterline is visible, and the green stems can be seen through the glass, appearing slightly distorted where the curved surface refracts them. Soft reflections appear beneath the jar on the smooth supporting surface.

The bouquet consists of three open red roses accompanied by two unopened buds and several green leaves. One fully opened bloom occupies the right side of the arrangement, with layered petals unfolding from a tightly formed centre. A second rose on the left is slightly smaller and partially open, while a third bloom near the centre remains more compact. One bud is positioned between the flowers and another extends above the arrangement. Variations of crimson, red, and darker maroon define the petals, contrasting with the green leaves and stems. The painting is presented in a narrow black frame with a metallic inner edge.
