As an architect Fraser Brinsmead has always been keenly aware of the incredible richness and vitality of city life. His paintings are home to people oblivious to being watched, people who play, work, and live in an urban context. They are familiar scenes into which the viewer might feel compelled to join in, hear the sounds, feel the crowd, breathe the smells and experience the light. Many works hint at a deeper story that will entice the viewer to elaborate, while others have layered themes that reflect the complexity of modern living.
The customer regularly visits friends in Vancouver and wanted something special to remember is the time spent in the city. Fraser accommodated his specific requests for the location, time of day and the Canuks jersey numbers on the two figures! This has to be one of the most ultimate souvenirs you could ask for!
Below is the drawing provided to the purchaser for his approval:
Fraser has in-depth experience working with clients as well as an incredible work ethic to deliver not only a beautiful painting but a custom art purchasing experience.
This year marks a significant milestone - THIRTY years of being a part of a thriving arts community in Victoria, BC. We are filled with gratitude for the past and excitement for what's to come, but with a heavy heart, we must announce the upcoming closure of our Victoria Gallery on the corner of Broad and View Street effective April 27, 2024
Breath of Life began with a drawing, a simple yet powerful blueprint for what would become a life-sized celebration of nature. In the concept sketches, we see the genesis of her vision—clusters of peonies rendered in loose, confident strokes. These initial marks are the seeds from which the full bloom of the diptych would grow.
Join us in celebrating the artists that make such connections possible. Visit a gallery, attend an art show, or commission a piece that tells your story. Together, we can ensure that the tradition of original art continues to thrive and enrich our lives. Supporting original art means supporting a legacy of creativity, passion, and human connection. Let's keep the tradition alive!
