Wild Sky is a 30" × 30" oil on canvas painting by Rod Charlesworth (b. 1955), depicting a group of evergreen trees standing before a broad lake beneath a highly textured sky.

The upper portion of the canvas is filled with irregular blocks of yellow, orange, blue, and purple, forming a highly textured sky above the water. The lake below is rendered in horizontal bands of blue, green, and pale yellow, with low rock formations and a distant line of trees marking the horizon in muted green, grey, and purple. The foreground carries warmer tones of yellow, red, and green across the shrubs and small trees.

Charlesworth works the sky with compact, repeated strokes that build irregular blocks of colour across the upper portion of the canvas. The lake is described with smoother, horizontal bands of paint, while the evergreens standing before the water are defined by dark lines for their trunks and branches. The foreground shrubs and small trees are built from layered patches of yellow, red, and green, with thin pale lines describing new growth among the vegetation.

Rod Charlesworth is a Canadian painter based in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. Largely self-taught, with early studies at Okanagan College, his practice developed from an initial interest in Surrealism toward Impressionism. His subject matter spans landscapes and community scenes across Western and Northern Canada, with attention to colour and paint handling. Charlesworth's work is held in corporate and private collections in Canada and the United States and is represented by galleries across the country. Several narrow evergreen trees stand in the middle of the composition, their trunks and branches described with dark lines and layered green shapes, standing slightly forward of the distant shoreline.
