Accessibility Description
The square-format painting presents a landscape divided almost evenly between land and sky. At the bottom, a field of blooming yellow canola stretches across the canvas, dense with clustered blossoms that soften into a continuous carpet of gold. The flowers in the foreground are painted with greater clarity, while those further back dissolve into a hazy yellow band that leads to the horizon. Along the distant line, two small clusters of dark green trees anchor either side of the composition, leaving the middle ground open and uninterrupted.
Above, the sky dominates the upper half of the work. It begins as a pale blue near the horizon and deepens gradually toward the top edge. Wisps of white clouds arc diagonally across the space, painted with light, fluid brushstrokes that give the impression of movement. The clouds are concentrated toward the right side, tapering and dispersing toward the left. The overall framing is simple and uncluttered, with the vertical sides of the canvas holding the horizontal sweep of field and sky in balance.
