About the Artwork
Twin Peaks is a 6" × 6" acrylic on birch panel by Peter Wyse. The work presents a white dog with pointed ears, a curved daisy stem, and a small red ladybug set against a pale blue background.
The composition uses a tightly cropped frontal format, with the dog's ears extending toward the upper corners and the flower stem crossing the lower left portion of the panel. Subtle grey modelling across the white coat gives the small panel a worked, tactile surface.

Accessibility Description
This square painting presents a white dog with pointed upright ears against a pale blue background. The dog is shown frontally and cropped closely so that the large black nose sits at the lower centre edge of the image. Its ears reach upward toward the top corners, with soft pink inner-ear areas bordered by grey shading. The eyes are dark blue-black and set in rounded grey shadows, giving them strong contrast against the pale face. A white daisy with a yellow centre appears on the left side of the panel, connected to a curved green stem that bends across the dog's lower face. Two small leaves sit on the stem near the centre-left area. A small red ladybug with black markings rests near the upper right edge, partly behind the dog's ear. Thin blue outlines define the edge of the dog and flower. The surface contains visible brush texture and gentle sanding marks, with grey and white layers creating tonal variation across the dog's face.

Artwork Care
CARING FOR YOUR ARTWORK
Display
Hang artwork away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and air vents. UV exposure causes fading over time — UV-protective glazing is recommended for works on paper and photography. Avoid hanging artwork above fireplaces or in bathrooms where heat and humidity fluctuate.
Cleaning
Dust frames gently with a soft, dry cloth. Never use household cleaners, water, or solvents on the artwork surface. For oil paintings, a soft-bristle brush can be used lightly to remove surface dust. Professional cleaning is recommended for valuable or delicate pieces.
Temperature & Humidity
Maintain a stable environment — ideally 18–22°C (65–72°F) with 40–55% relative humidity. Rapid changes in temperature or humidity can cause warping, cracking, or flaking. In Alberta’s dry climate, a humidifier can help protect your collection during winter months.
Handling & Moving
Always handle artwork with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves. Carry framed works by the sides of the frame — never by the hanging wire. When transporting, wrap in acid-free tissue or soft blankets and keep upright. For valuable pieces, professional art handlers and custom crating are recommended.
Storage
Store artwork upright in a cool, dry, dark space. Use acid-free materials for wrapping. Never store artwork in attics, basements, or garages where temperature and humidity are uncontrolled.
Insurance
We recommend insuring your art collection. An up-to-date appraisal (every 2–3 years) ensures proper coverage. West End Gallery offers professional appraisal services — please enquire for details.
