Accessibility Description

A near-square horizontal landscape painting dominated by a large storm cloud. A thin reddish-brown band of land runs along the bottom, edged by a dark line at the horizon. Above it, the sky is filled with layered blue, grey, white, mauve, and charcoal paint. The darkest cloud mass sits left of centre and spreads across the upper half. Lighter rounded clouds gather along the upper right and top edge. Long vertical and diagonal streaks of blue, grey, and white descend from the central cloud toward the land, suggesting rainfall seen at a distance. Small dark marks are scattered through the falling rain. The paint surface is thick and irregular, especially in the cloud forms, where overlapping strokes create raised edges. Brighter turquoise and pale blue appear in the lower left sky, while muted cream and pink-grey soften parts of the upper clouds. No buildings, trees, or figures are visible; the low horizon leaves the weather as the central subject.
