About the Artwork
Lake Agnes is a 24" × 30" acrylic on canvas by Jenna D. Robinson. From the stony shoreline, the view carries across clear turquoise water toward rugged peaks and a sweep of sunlit strata. Robinson focuses on how light shifts across rock, forest, and alpine lake, building the scene through measured brushwork and layered colour.
A tempered palette of teal, cobalt, and cool violet is set against warm notes of ochre and rose along the shore and larch stands. Angular marks in the cliffs contrast with softer transitions over the water, where submerged stones are visible in the shallows. Accessibility Description
The painting depicts an alpine lake bordered by a rocky shoreline in the foreground and steep mountain peaks in the distance. In the lower portion, flat stones and a pale boulder sit at the water’s edge. Shallow water transitions from light green near the shore to deeper turquoise toward the middle of the canvas, with reflections of trees and rock along the far side. A line of small yellow-gold trees traces the lakeshore at centre right, leading toward a cluster of darker evergreens. Above the water, the mountains rise in layered planes of cool blue, violet, and soft pink, suggesting angled shadows and sunlit rock faces. The peaks are faceted with rectangular brushstrokes, creating a sense of structure. The sky is a clear blue without clouds. The overall arrangement moves from detailed stones at the bottom, across the calm lake, to broad planes of rock and sky.
