The Upright Shorebird Decoy, by Darren Petersen. From one side, it shows a gradient of earthy olives and yellows merging into a deep green. This side is accented by vertical streaks of black that add to its textural appearance. The reverse side reveals a cooler palette with muted greys, silvers, and blue splashes interspersed with yellow specks. The beak features a glossy transition from amber at its base to a vibrant red at the tip, strikingly contrasting the body's more subdued tones. The sculpture's surface has a crackle glass texture created by Petersen's unique hot-to-cold water technique.
