Greta Guzek
Greta Guzek embraces and captures the spirit of the West Coast. Her intricate designs and vivid colours have become a distinctively joyful feature of her artwork, gaining broad appeal throughout Canada. Greta completed her Fine Arts Degree in South Africa, where she grew up and then, in 1980, immigrated to Vancouver. She worked as a graphic designer and illustrator and taught printmaking classes at Capilano College. Since 1990, Greta has worked as a painter from her studio on the Sunshine Coast of B.C. She has become an established artist in the galleries, and her artwork has also seen a diverse application from book Illustration to designs promoting various events and festivals.
"I have a strong bond and reverence for the landscape surrounding me and feel compelled to reveal the living energy and poetry within it. I use expressive colour and rhythmic design, combined with a stylized narrative of familiar scenes to translate the joy and wonder."
