The Unfurled Petal by Jeannette Sirois
Salt Spring Island artist Jeannette Sirois presents her second solo exhibition with West End Gallery Saturday, August 22, 2020. Jeannette's painstakingly detailed botanical drawings are a sight to behold.
"I choose to use coloured pencils on paper. This method requires patience and attention to detail to reveal surprises of colour, pattern and texture not seen and often overlooked because of the minute scale of the subject. I am fascinated by the intricate folds, creases, and luxurious details which the subjects in these drawings reveal to us. The range of these works allows the viewer to pause, even for a brief moment to admire what nature has to offer. Each work is a revelation into something new and unexpected. " - Jeannette Sirois
