Warm Glow, Behchokǫ̀, NWT is a 36" x 36" oil painting by Rod Charlesworth created on canvas.
Behchokǫ̀, which was previously known as Rae-Edzo, is made up of three distinct communities, namely Rae, Edzo, and Frank Channel. Rae can be traced back to Dr. John Rae, a Scottish explorer who established a Hudson's Bay Company post in 1882 at Old Fort Rae on Marion Lake. Edzo was named in honour of a historical Tłı̨chǫ leader who brokered peace between the Tłı̨chǫ and Yellowknives Dene. Frank Channel serves as the gateway between Marion Lake and Great Slave Lake. In 2005, the community's name was officially changed to Behchokǫ̀; however, it has always been referred to as Behchokǫ̀ (meaning "Big Knife") in the Tłı̨chǫ language. Behchokǫ̀ is easily accessible throughout the year by road, as it is only an hour's drive northwest of Yellowknife.
