Elena Henderson completed her degree in design from the International Academy of Design and Technology in Toronto and has been working as a professional artist since 2009. Using predominately acrylic paint, Elena incorporates other media in her work to emphasize and create textural quality in her abstracted floral paintings. While finding balance and beauty in form, there is self-expression and freedom that is transferred from her creative imagination through her brushwork. Counteracting a crisp white palette with lush jewel tones, the resulting paintings are a visual delight and elevate an everyday subject matter to the extraordinary by encouraging the viewer to seek out the surrounding beauty in an ever-changing world.
Today is difficult for Edmontonians as we grieve the tragic loss of two Edmonton Police Service (EPS) officers, Const. Travis Jordan and Const. Brett Ryan in the line of duty in the city's northwest. We extend our deepest sympathies to their families, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
Thanks to our customers' support, the campaign raised an impressive $28,790. To ensure these funds reached those most in need, I connected with Ed Stelmach, former Alberta Premier and founder of the Ed Stelmach Community Foundation. This foundation promotes "a culture of charity and equality for all Albertans" and is managed by a volunteer board. They are currently focusing on two key initiatives to assist displaced Ukrainians.
