Realism

Encyclopedia Britannica defines realism as, the accurate, detailed, unembellished depiction of nature or of contemporary life. Realism rejects imaginative idealization in favour of a close observation of outward appearances.

We agree but define it more simply as looking for a painting that looks as close as the real thing as a photograph.  Browse our collection of Realist painters that will make you take a double-take on if they are canvases or photographs!
