It's not a secret that many small businesses throughout Canada have been struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic. We operate two store locations, one in Edmonton, AB. The second is in Victoria, B.C., and between the two, it employs seven people and has been in business since 1975.

Since the lockdown in March of 2020, we have been pivoting our business, trying our best to adapt to a rapidly changing world. We want to thank Kendra Slugoski and Fletcher Kent of Global News Edmonton, shining a light on our gallery and highlighting the issues our business has been trying to overcome for the past seven months.

A Tragic Day for Edmonton

Thanks to our customers' support, the campaign raised an impressive $28,790. To ensure these funds reached those most in need, I connected with Ed Stelmach, former Alberta Premier and founder of the Ed Stelmach Community Foundation. This foundation promotes "a culture of charity and equality for all Albertans" and is managed by a volunteer board. They are currently focusing on two key initiatives to assist displaced Ukrainians.
