Andrea Ripley
Andrea Ripley is a Canadian glass artist producing functional work with a creative twist. Colours, patterns and textures fascinate her, and she strives to incorporate these elements into every new collection. Andrea pays particular attention to form, accentuating clean lines while highlighting the unique optic properties of glass. Her extensive body of work predominantly combines cane and murrine techniques to produce vibrant patterns in her bowls, plates and vessels. Most recently, she has created single and multi-tiered dessert presentation pieces, infusing whimsy and elegance into each highly functional design. Andrea graduated from the Craft and Design program at Sheridan College in 2006 with an immense appreciation for all mediums of art. Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on psychology from Waterloo University. Since completing her formal education, she has been fortunate to continue working with glass full-time. Andrea's designs, which have been featured in some of Toronto’s preeminent exhibition spaces, continually evolve in relation to her signature artistic style. Andrea is presently a resident of Glen Williams Glass Studio, a cooperative community of artists with studios located in Glen Williams, Ontario.
